For TSAS and COLSA students. Preference given to natural resources majors.

James J. Brunelli Memorial Fund
Awards up to $1,000 to a UNH student who has a documented learning disability. Preference given to TSAS students. Criteria include demonstrated independence, motivation, and determination toward the educational experience.

John Edwin Bachelder Family Trust Scholarship
For students who are residents of Merrimack County, N.H. Scholarship amount varies. No application required.

Miriam Jackson Memorial Scholarship
For TSAS students with an academic commitment to ecology and environmental studies. Criteria include financial need. Preference given to New Hampshire residents, but all are encouraged to apply.

New Hampshire Charitable Foundation
For New Hampshire students, particularly those enrolled in vocational or technical colleges. Awards range from $100 to $2,500 (average $1,500). Based on financial need, academic performance, and community and school involvement.

New Hampshire Eastern States Exposition Trustees Scholarship
Available to restaurant management, dietetic technician, horticultural technology, animal science, and forest technology students. $1,000 scholarship. Based on FFA participation, career goals, and financial need.

New Hampshire Future Farmers of America (FFA) Foundation
For horticultural technology, forest technology, animal science, restaurant management, and dietetic technician students. Encourages continued education in agriculture. Criteria include FFA participation, academic achievement and potential, financial need, and career goals.

New Hampshire Rural Rehabilitation Corporation
For first-year students with a farming background. Awards 12 $300 scholarships and five $500 scholarships. Considers applicants from New Hampshire farms, rural New Hampshire towns (population less than 5,000), or those with a vocational agriculture or 4-H background.

Putnam Memorial Scholarship
For students of animal science, food services management, forest technology, and horticultural technology. Criteria include motivation, capability, and financial need. Preference given to returning part-time or full-time, nontraditional students. Nominated by TSAS faculty.

Stacey W. Cole Endowed Scholarship
For a returning, full-time senior who has demonstrated motivation, promise, moral integrity, and a sense of citizenship and spirit at TSAS.

Animal Science

Blue Seal Feeds, Inc., Scholarship
For TSAS or COLSA dairy science students. Criteria include New Hampshire residency, academic achievement, and sincere interest in the dairy industry.

Charles W. Buck Memorial Scholarship Fund
For returning students who are New Hampshire residents and are enrolled in an agriculture studies program.

Gunnar B. Olsson Endowed Scholarship
For TSAS and COLSA students. Preference given to dairy-oriented New Hampshire residents with a strong 4-H background. Criteria include demonstrated leadership potential.

Harriet G. Bird Scholarship
Primarily for Massachusetts residents enrolled in pre-veterinary or animal science programs. Will also consider those exhibiting a strong interest in animal welfare.

Herbert C. "Dinty" Moore Memorial Fund
For TSAS or COLSA dairy science students. Annual, renewable $500 scholarship. Criteria include academic achievement, sincere interest in the dairy industry, and New Hampshire residency.

Kenneth R. Fowler Scholarship
For TSAS and COLSA dairy science students. Criteria include academic achievement and sincere interest in dairy cattle. Preference given to New England residents. Financial need not a requirement.

New England Animal Control/Humane Academy Scholarships
For returning small animal care students. Awards two $250 scholarships. Criteria include financial need, academic achievement, and character. See department chair for application before April 15.

Criteria include New Hampshire residency, financial need, and a minimum GPA of 3.0. See department chair at the start of the third semester.

Thomas J. Davis Prize
Awarded to a returning second-year student for proficiency in dairy cattle judging. Nominated by TSAS faculty.

Walhowden Farm Scholarship
Eligible candidates include animal science students with an interest in dairy or livestock. Alternates yearly between COLSA and TSAS students. Preference given to Grafton County, N.H., residents. Financial need considered.

Business Management

Applied Business Management Scholarships
For returning business management students. Awards scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000. Funded by a course that operates for-profit businesses. Based on need, academic success, and promise. See program chair for application.

Civil Technology

Association of Energy Engineers (Maine/New Hampshire Chapter)
For academic excellence in energy engineering or energy management. Awards five $500 scholarships to undergraduates.

E. N. Roberts Scholarship
Eligible candidates include returning civil technology students. Based on serious interest and outstanding accomplishment in surveying courses and aspirations to a surveying career. Write to N.H. Land Surveyors Assoc., P.O. Box 689, Raymond, NH 03077-0689. See department chair.

New Hampshire Public Works Association
For civil technology students. $500 scholarship. See department chair by February.

Paul Gilman Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student nominated by TSAS faculty. Preference given to a civil technology student. Minimum GPA of 2.0.

SFC Engineering Partnership, Inc.
For returning civil technology students who plan to pursue a surveying career. Awards $500.

Community Leadership

New Hampshire Charitable Foundation

Dietetic Technician

American Dietetic Association
For first-year dietetic technician students. Awards range from $450 to $4,500, to be used during second year. Must show leadership and academic ability.

Clark E. DeHaven Scholarship

Food Services Management Scholarships
For first-year food services management students. Awards two $500 scholarships. Criteria include New Hampshire residency and a grade average of "B" or higher.

Allen W. Plumb Scholarship
Eligible candidates include returning forest technology students who are New Hampshire residents. Criteria include serious interest and outstanding accomplishment in land surveying courses and aspirations to a career in land surveying. See department chair by October.

Melvin E. Jenkins Scholarship
For second-year forest technology students in recognition of Jenkins' professions of forestry and land surveying. Criteria include serious interest, capability, and accomplishment in forestry courses, land surveying, or forest and wildlife ecology. Minimum GPA of 3.0.

National Hardwood Lumber Association
For full-time senior, forest technology students. Awards $1,500 scholarships to encourage well-trained individuals to pursue careers in the hardwood industry. Minimum GPA of 2.5.

New Hampshire Eastern States Exposition Trustees Scholarship
Available to restaurant management, dietetic technician, horticultural technology, animal science, and forest technology students. $1,000 scholarship. Based on Future Farmers of America participation, career goals, and financial need.

New Hampshire Future Farmers of America (FFA) Foundation
For horticultural technology, forest technology, animal science, restaurant management, and dietetic technician students. Encourages continued education in agriculture. Criteria include FFA participation, academic achievement and potential, financial need, and career goals.

New London Garden Club Scholarship
For students of forest or horticultural technology. $500 scholarship. Criteria include academic achievement and financial need. Must have a 3.0 GPA and maintain that average for the duration of the award.

Robert R. Gehrett Memorial Scholarship
For first-year forest technology students from New Hampshire. $600 scholarship. Based on ability and financial need.

Ruth E. Farrington Scholarship
For forest technology students. Awards the equivalent of 50 percent of in-state tuition.

Society of American Foresters (Granite State Division)
For forest technology students. $500 scholarship. Criteria include academic achievement, interest in chosen field, and related extra-curricular activities and work experience. Selection made by TSAS forestry faculty; no application needed.

Horticultural Technology

Bay State African Violet Society
Established to foster an exchange of ideas on the propagation and growth of the African violet.

Carl F. Dietz Memorial Scholarship
Open to horticulture students (from any nation) with a specific interest in bedding plants. Criteria include financial need, academic promise, and the ability to describe how scholarship will help meet career goals.

Charles K. Mruk Scholarship
For horticultural technology students. Awards two scholarships in recognition of Charles Mruk and his dedication to the turf industry. Applications available at the COLSA dean's office; a short essay is required. Send application to Charles K. Mruk Scholarship Committee, c/o NESTMA, 36 Malta St., Seekonk, MA 02771.

For returning students who are New Hampshire residents and are enrolled in an agriculture studies program.

Festival of Trees Scholarship Fund
For students pursuing natural resources or horticulture programs. First consideration to Seacoast residents enrolled at UNH. Separate application available through Thompson School’s main office.

Genevieve Teachout Madden Scholarship
For students of forest or horticultural technology. Established by the New Hampshire New London Garden Club. Financial need considered. Expected GPA of 3.0.

International Society of Arboriculture, Inc. (New England Chapter)
Eligible candidates include full-time horticultural technology students. Awards up to three $1,000 scholarships to promote interest in shade and ornamental trees and recognize scholarly endeavors.

New Hampshire Eastern States Exposition Trustees Scholarship
Available to restaurant management, dietetic technician, horticultural technology, animal science, and forest technology students. $1,000 scholarship. Based on FFA participation, career goals, and financial need.

New Hampshire Federation of Garden Clubs
Eligible candidates include returning forest and horticultural technology students. Awards two scholarships of $500. Criteria include New Hampshire residency.

Ruth E. and Leon E. Pearson Memorial Scholarship
Eligible candidates include horticultural technology students. Awards a $1,500 scholarship for superior horticultural and scholastic performance. Criteria include completion of two semesters of full-time, college-level, horticulture study; a minimum GPA of 3.0; and an age of less than 28 years on December 31 of the application year. National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarships
For restaurant management or hospitality students. Criteria include commitment to the restaurant industry; a minimum, first-semester GPA of 2.75; and 750 hours of industry-related work experience.
