Scholarship FAQs

Q: How can I learn more about these scholarships?
A: If you are enrolled at the Thompson School, you can talk to your academic adviser. Otherwise, stop by the Office of the Assistant Director.

Q: Where can I find application forms?
A: You can obtain application forms for many scholarships from the chair of your academic department or from the associate dean of students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) for those scholarships administered through COLSA. In some cases, however, you must contact the organization that administers the scholarship endowment.

Q: What are the deadlines for scholarship applications?
A: These vary by scholarship. Read submission information carefully. Scholarships that are administered through COLSA must be submitted to the associate dean of students by the last day of March.

Q: Is a financial aid form necessary to apply for a scholarship?
A: If financial need is a criterion of scholarship eligibility, you must have an approved financial aid form on file in the UNH Office of Financial Aid. Regardless of criteria, it is a good idea to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Filing a FAFSA is a stipulation for many scholarships.
