Celia Thaxter’s Garden

Students studying in the Ornamental Horticulture option produce over 1500 plants which each year bring about Celia’s garden on Appledore Island. The garden is recreated in the same spot it was over 150 years ago. The design and layout are based on the drawing she included in her book “An Island Garden”. This major undertaking is a joint effort by the Thompson School, Connell University and the Rye Driftwood Garden Club.
