Greenhouse Sales

The planting season is fast approaching. Although we don’t suggest planting annuals until after the last frost, you can start thinking about getting your beds ready. Stop by and see the large assortment of annuals and vegetables we have on hand. Remember all plant material is produced by the students within our Horticulture Program.

The Thompson School Horticultural Facility is comprised of over 6,000 square feet of inside growing area, as well as over 3,500 square feet of outdoor container production area. Within the facility, the students, during laboratory and practicum periods, produce a year round assortment of plant materials that are for sale to community members.

Tip of the Season

If you are looking to maintain your outside bulbs this is an important time of the year. Once the flower has faded, remove just the flower leaving all the green leaves to die back on their own. This allows the bulb to produce food and increase in size for next year. Never cut all the leaves off until they have turned brown. You might also consider spreading a little bone meal around as well.
