The Construction Management concentration prepares students for careers in land development, construction contracting and management, and land-use planning. Courses emphasize construction and its related technologies, dealing with material selection and design, and design of foundation and drainage systems.
Environmental and land development issues are also emphasized through studies of residential and commercial septic and waste disposal systems, recycling, and effective energy management.
Graduates of the Construction Management concentration find employment as construction supervisors, job estimators, property managers, code enforcement officers, and construction material testers. Many graduates elect to continue their education in bachelor of science programs in Civil Engineering or in Community Development.
