Welcome!
Dear Students, Parents, Guidance Counselors and Others,
Welcome to the UNH-Thompson School’s Applied Business Management program. We connect to every business, organization and government agency on Earth! Effective Marketing and Sales--getting and keeping customers, Personnel Management-- getting and keeping good employees, Finance, and Operations Management-- location, layout and day-to-day operations are the major keys to success for any enterprise and make up the core of our program.
We are located on the UNH campus in the friendly confines of Durham, New Hampshire. The ABM program and its industry-experienced faculty and adjuncts provide a comprehensive base of knowledge and training in each of the above mentioned and related business disciplines in both the classroom and every day world of business. Our smaller classes allow for individual attention and more effective learning. We use the N.H. Seacoast Area business community and beyond as our working laboratory, as students are able to interview business owners and managers, observe their operations on site and participate in a wide variety of internship and employment opportunities.
The majority of our graduates continue on to a variety of baccalaureate degrees, right here at UNH and at schools and colleges across the nation. We have many graduates who go directly into the business world as entry level managers, sales associates, entrepreneurs and small business owners. We are very proud of the success and achievements of our nearly 2,000 graduates over the past thirty years. This includes success in academics, business, family and community. The sky’s the limit for those willing to make the commitment to academic excellence. Motivated students are always successful students. Our faculty also serve as career and life advisors and mentors, working with students one-on-one to set and achieve both career and personal goals.
We encourage you to visit UNH, to meet with our faculty and current students, tour the campus and attend a class or two. UNH students have options: they may attend part-time or full-time, may live on campus or commute and may choose from the many activities and organizations offered on campus. The application process is fast and easy.
Good luck and best wishes from your ABM faculty,
