Prospective Students
Our program offers three areas of specialization – Dairy Management, Equine Management, and Small Animal Care. Each specialization has the same basic core classes to provide the students with a broad knowledge base – but each then requires its own set of classes important to that specific field. Most students choose one specialization but often take electives in another. A few students actually specialize in two areas or take classes in other curriculums. Many of our students continue at a four-year degree program at UNH and find their experience at the Thompson School invaluable.
Admissions requirements for all Applied Animal Science students: Applicants must present at least two years each of satisfactory work in college preparatory mathematics and sciences (one science being biology, with a lab). One year of high school chemistry is also highly recommended.
Deborah Pack, our Admissions Coordinator, provides the opportunity for prospective students and parents to have an interview with her and tour the campus. She may be reached at (603) 862-3115. If you take advantage of this opportunity, please do not hesitate to stop by my office in Room 204 Barton Hall. I would very much like to meet you and answer any questions you may have. I can also be reached at (603) 862-1014 or send me an email.
Sincerely,
Jerilee A. Zezula, D.V.M.
