Applied Animal Science Program

Grooming Shop

The Grooming Shop is a business operated by students enrolled in the Thompson School’s Small Animal Care concentration or Pet Grooming Certificate Program.  Classes are taught by professional groomer, Chris Bohman. “We encourage people to bring their pets to the shop, and we are especially looking for pure-bred animals with coats requiring specific clipping and scissoring patterns,” says Chris.

Grooming services include brushing, de-matting, ear cleaning, nail trimming, checking for fleas and ticks, bathing, appropriate scissoring and clipping. The Grooming Shop operates on Wednesday's during times of the year when UNH classes are in session.  Pets are groomed with care by professionally supervised students. All breeds of pets are welcome. Advanced students enjoy breeds that require stylized grooming. Students do best with pets that enjoy attention and grooming!
