Facilities

Whether the specialty is Dairy Management, Equine Management or Small Animal Care, students in Applied Animal Science gain practical experience at the UNH equine facilities, the Thomas P. Fairchild Dairy Teaching and Research Center, the UNH Organic Dairy Farm, the Thompson School Grooming Shop and the Applied Animal Science biology laboratory.

The curriculum has a number of animal-related off-campus educational practicums, including an educational partnership for small animal care students with the NHSPCA in Stratham, N.H.

In addition field trips to many animal-related facilities and businesses are incorporated into classes.
