Alumni Update
Diana Podaski (CSL ‘03) completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication in May 2005 and is now working with a real estate firm in Boston handling their marketing and event planning. Diana is also featured in the current Thompson School newsletter.
Emily Lavin (CSL ‘03) has returned to school full-time to earn her degree in Education from Granite State College. She has worked special education students in the Hampton school system for several years. Emily continues to serve on the CSL Advisory Committee.
Mike Brown (CSL ’03) completed his bachelor’s degree in May ’05 and was hired as the Volunteer Coordinator for the American Cancer Society in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He plans to apply for graduate school in Social Work.
Julie-ann Edwards (CSL ’03), who came to the program with her bachelor’s degree in Russian from UNH, works as a project manager for Measured Progress, an educational assessment and professional development organization, and is now focusing on earning a Master’s in Business Administration
Matt Morin (CSL ’04) is now the Peer Leadership Coordinator for the Grafton County (Massachusetts) Job Corps.
Jess Harring (CSL ’04) is completing a year sabbatical from her work on a bachelor’s degree in social work. During her time away from school, she worked for A Safe Place, a local shelter for women escaping violent relationships.
Kate Mower (CSL ’04) earned a bachelor’s degree at UNH in Women’s Studies in December. Kate continues to serve on the CSL Advisory Committee.
Aaron Friedman (CSL ’04) continues to work in the areas of sustainability, peace and community organizing. He is now living in California and plans to continue his education in sustainable community planning.
Jesse Barnes (CSL ’05) is currently a Family Studies major at UNH and hopes to complete her bachelor’s degree next year. She continues to serve on the CSL Advisory Committee.
Britt Stockley (CSL ’05) transferred to Emmanuel College in Boston to study Political Science and to compete on their track team. She hopes to graduate with her bachelor’s degree next year.
Indira Henley (CSL ’05) plans to continue her education in Community Development as she raises her five children.
Helen Long (CLL ‘05 ) created a self-designed major in nonprofit marketing through the College for Lifelong Learning (now Granite State College), using many CSL classes as core requirements. For her senior project, supervised by CSL faculty member Kate Hanson, she interned with the United Way of the Greater Seacoast. She was then hired by the United Way and is currently their coordinator for the semi-annual Day of Caring.
Candace Dolan (CLL ’05) created a self-designed major in Nonprofit Management through the College for Lifelong Learning, using many csl courses as her core requirements. Working with CSL faculty member Kate Hanson, she evaluated the Great Bay Coast Watch volunteer program. She continues to work with the Great Bay Coast Watch of the UNH Sea Grant Program.
